《바티칸 문서》와 《기해-병오 박해 순교자 증언록》은 어떤 관계인가?
이 글은 《바티칸 문서》와 《기해-병오 박해 순교자 증언록(이하 증언록)》의 관계를 해명하는 것이다. 이 해명을 위해서 이 관계에 대한 물음을 처음으로 제기한 이득수 선생의 편지를 분석의 출발로 삼았다. 분석은 결과는 다음과 같다. 이득수 선생이 추정한 대로, 《바티칸 문서》의 원본에 해당하는 한글 원문이 있었고, 그것은 다름 아닌 《증언록》이었다. 이 문헌들은 바티칸 교황청의 문서 제작 규정에 따라 만들어진 문건들이었고, 이것들을 대조-비교해 본 결과, 《바티칸 문서》는 《증언록》의 번역문이었다. 하지만, 《바티칸 문서》는 《증언록》에 없는 회차 1의 기록과 증언록 이외에 여러 다른 소중한 기록들을 가지고 있었다. 이런 점 때문에, 《바티칸 문서》는 전체 문건의 머리에 해당하고 《증언록》은 몸에 해당한다는 결론에 도달했다. 이와 같은 결론에 입각해서, 이 글은 《바티칸 문서》의 후속 출판 형식과 관련해서 비판-대조본을 제안하였다.
On the relationship between Congregatio Riti Processi (4858, 4859 and 5279) and Korean Martyrs Testimony in the years of 1839-46
This paper tried to explore the relationship between Congregatio Riti Processi 4858, 4859 and 5279 preseved at Archivo Segreto Vaticano and Kihae(1839)-Byungo(1846) Bakhae Korean Martyrs Testimonies photocopied (2004) by Korean Catholic Research Institute. For this, first, the paper introduced a letter of Prof. I Deug Su(1939-2004) that reports many valuable obeservations on Congregatio Riti Processi 4858, 4859 and 5279. Second, the paper made a brief collation between Hagiographica Coreana Vol.I and Vol. II published by I Deug Su Institute in Sienna University and Kihae(1839)-Byungo(1846) Bakhae Korean Martyrs Testimonies published by Suwon Catholic Research Institute. This comes to the conclusion that the first is a French translation of the latter. The main translator was Episcopus Mutel (1854-1933). According to my collation, however, Congregatio Riti Processi is to be considered as head of whole text of testimony, while Kihae(1839)-Byungo(1846) Bakhae Korean martyrs Testimonies is to be regarded as body. Based on this, finally, the paper suggests new bilingual edition for Hagiographica Coreana series.
