《가톨릭연구》에 나온 조선천주교회사 기사 연구
본 논문은 《가톨릭연구》에 나온 조선 천주교회사 관련 기사에 대하여 분석하였다. 특히 1934년 순교자 성월 특집호에 나온 기사와 50주년 관련 특집호에 나온 교회사 기사들에 대해 중점 분석하였다. 1934년 9월호로 발간된 치명자 특집호는 문학 형식의 기사가 대부분이다. 하지만 김구정이 쓴 논설 형식의 기사 안에는 순교 및 교회사에 대해 바라보는 두 가지 관점이 드러나 있다. 조선 민족의 우월성을 강조하는 면모와 호교론이 동시에 나와 있다. 조선 가톨릭 세기 반 기념특집 합집호로 나온 1935년 9,10월호는 조선 천주교회의 시작부터 20세기 초까지 나온 교회사 관련 주제들을 다루고 있다. 그런데 1935년에 나온 특집호에는 앞서 언급한 치명자 특집호에 드러난 두 가지 면모와 더불어 신문화 도입과 근대화를 강조하는 특성이 추가로 나왔다. 그 다음 달에 나온 150주년 기념 행사 특집호에는 일반 신문들의 사설을 소개하였는데, 이 안에는 천주교가 신문화 수입의 공로자라는 관점이 있다. 《가톨릭연구》는 초창기 조선천주교회사 역사에 대해 관심을 집중하면서, 동시대 인물이며 천주교와도 어느 정도 관련이 있었던 정약용에 대해 주목하였다. 이렇게 정약용에 대한 기사 비중이 높아진 요인은 1930년대 조선학 운동과 연관이 있다. 이러한 경향은 같은 시대에 나온 천주교회 잡지인 《가톨릭청년》에도 그대로 드러나 있다. 이 잡지 기사의 궁극적 목적은 천주교 선교를 위한 것이었다. 하지만 천주교가 근대적인 종교라는 것을 강조하기 위해 실학을 부각시킨 동시대 역사학 경향과 그 맥을 같이 하였다고 볼 수 있다. 이와 같이 파악한 바에 따른다면 《가톨릭연구》의 교회사 기사는 호교론, 조선 민족의 우월성 강조, 근대화라는 세 가지 면모를 담고 있다고 말할 수 있다.
Study on Korean Catholic Histroy Article in Catholic Yeon-Gu
This thesis analyzed the articles about Korean Catholic History in Catholic Yeon-Gu(가톨릭연구). In particular, they focuses on the articles of the 1934 Martyrs' Holy Month and the articles of the church history in the special issue related to the 50th anniversary. In the September 1934, the special issue of the martyrs is mostly literary articles. However, there are two perspectives on martyrdom and church history in the editorial style article written by Kim Gu-Jeong(김구정). The aspect that emphasizes the superiority of the Korean people and the perspective of the apologetics are shown at the same time. In 1935, the Catholic Half-Century Special Collective Collection covers topics related to church history from the beginning of the Korean Catholic Church to early 20th century. In addition to the two aspects of the martyr feature mentioned above, this feature also added to the emphasis on the introduction of the New Culture and modernization. In the following month, the 150th Anniversary Special Issue featured the editorials of the general newspapers, in which there is a view that Catholicism is a contributor to the import of the New Culture. Catholic Yeon-Gu focused on the history of early Catholic Catholicism in Korea, and paid attention to Jeong Yak-Yong(정약용) who was related to Catholicism to some extent. The reason for the increase in the articles on Jeong Yak-Yong is related to the Joseon-Hak(조선학) movement in the 1930s. This trend is reflected in Catholic Cheong-nyeon(가톨릭청년), a Catholic magazine of the same age. The ultimate goal of this magazine article was for Catholic missions. However, it can be said that Catholicism is closely related with the trend of contemporary history that is emerged Sil-Hak(실학) to emphasize that it is a modern religion. According to this understanding, the articles of the church history of Catholic Yeon-Gu contain the following three aspects. They are the apologetics, the emphasis on the superiority of the Korean people, and the modernization.
